How to apply for a grant

  • Download an application by clicking HERE
  • Return the completed application to SAFE by faxing to (619) 269-3473

    • or

  • Contact the SAFE office at (619) 255 -2281 or by filling out the Contact form.

    • SAFE will evaluate emergency needs and financial status to determine if we are able to provide assistance to you.
    A caseworker will personally contact you.

    Applications are reviewed monthly or immediately in a dire emergency situation.
    Benefits are awarded as grants
    Two-party checks insure proper distribution of funds
